It's a GIRL!!!! (April 26th, 2012)

It felt like this day would never come!!! I woke up early because I couldn't sleep. Evan and I went to the doctor's office for our 10:30am appointment. They finally called us in and as I was sitting down on the table the ultrasound technician asked us, "So, are we going to find out what it is?" I don't think we even let her get the words out before we both almost yelled "YES!" She started the ultrasound and there was our baby on the screen, flipping and moving around. She started looking at the head and the brain and telling us all about what we were looking at. All I could think about was "Please just tell us what it is, and then you can get back to all this!" She finally moved her way down and said "It's a Girl!!" My eyes immediately started tearing up and I asked, "Are you sure??" She checked about three times and said "I'm positive." I looked at Evan and his eyes were a little teary too. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. It all just felt too good to be true and I couldn't stop crying! She continued with the ultrasound telling us that our little baby was quite active in there but all I could think about what the fact that I was having a girl!! I was so overwhelmed with emotion! She said she weighs 9 ounces and is about 5 and a half inches long. Her heartrate is 151bpm. Here are some of the ultrasound pictures.

This is our "It's a girl" picture, I still don't see it.

Of course I had to go shopping after finding out. Here are the first things we bought our baby girl.

I really just couldn't be happier right now!!!

17 Weeks (April 19-25, 2012)

Baby's Size:  Onion (about 5.1" long and 5.9 ounces)
Total Weight Gain/Loss:  +1lb. (+8lbs in total)
Starting to Show? I really popped while we were at Wrentham Outlets on Thursday, it was really weird but the belly is there now, for real. The bump is getting bigger day by day now.
Clothes: Still wearing my baggier sweaters but as soon as the weather starts getting nicer I will break into the maternity shirts, which actually fit now.
Sleep: Sleeping great.
Movement? Twice this week I've felt something like a heartbeat thump sporadically about 10 times down where the baby is while lying in bed at night. I'm not sure if that is the baby but it is something I haven't felt before. Also starting to feel almost like a fish is moving around in there once in a while.
Food Cravings: Nothing in particular this week.
Queasy/Sick? Same ol'
Miss Anything? Nope, I'm good this week!
Gender Prediction: Last time I'm doing this, here is the recap:
Signs that Point to Girl =
1. Chinese Gender Chart
2. Baking Soda Test
3. Wedding Ring Test
4. Pencil Test
4. Heartrate above 140
5. Thinner, duller hair
6. Same hair growth as before
7. No change in temp of feet
8. Sarah's 3 dreams that it's a girl
9. My psychic uncle who is convinced it's a girl.
People who think it's a girl: Me, Bobby, Sarah, Sarah, Jaye, poll at work is 16 for girl versus 11 for boy.
Signs that point to Boy =
1. Faster nail growth
2. No Morning Sickness
3. Dad Gaining Sympathy Weight
4. No Weight Gain in Face
People who think it's a boy: Evan, Big Evan, Jen

Mood: Happy, Excited, Anxious to find out the gender!!
Best Moment of the Week: Shopping at Wrentham and getting some maternity clothes along with the "Little Peanut" onesie!! Watching my belly grow throughout the day.
Looking Forward To: So excited this is the last time I have to say this… Finding out the gender!!!!!

16 Weeks (April 12-18, 2012)

Baby's Size:  Avocado (about 4.6" long and 3.5 ounces)
Total Weight Gain/Loss:  +1lb. (+8lbs in total)
Starting to Show? The bump is definitely there. Although everyone says that it is a super tiny bump, but it is now showing (I guess I just hide it well!)
Clothes: Belly bands with all jeans now and looser fitting tops
Sleep: Still sleeping well but I definitely feel like I have a bit more energy this week, thank god!
Movement? Still nothing that I know of
Food Cravings: Burgers on the grill with chips have been my craving of the week, at least it's better than McDonald's!
Queasy/Sick? Still dry heaving every morning when I brush my teeth. I've totally learned to just brush through it!
Miss Anything? Nothing really this week, pretty content, although the clothes things is still an issue.
Gender Prediction: I still feel like it's a girl since Sarah has had multiple dreams that it's a girl and my uncle is convinced it's a girl. We started a poll on the marker board outside my cube at work as well and the tally is 15 for girl and 10 for boy, but we will see soon enough!
Mood: Happy, Excited
Best Moment of the Week: Hearing the little peanut's heartbeat on the dopplar at my 16 week appointment and hearing it move around in there! So excited!
Looking Forward To: Finding out the gender!!! Really starting to think about what we need for the baby and what needs to get done before the baby comes. And shopping for new clothes!

15 Weeks (April 5-11, 2012)

Baby's Size:  Orange (about 4" long and 2.5 ounces)
Total Weight Gain/Loss:  +1lb. (+7lbs in total)
Starting to Show? There is now a bump, people at work are actually starting to notice it a bit now!
Clothes: Relying on the belly bands with almost all pants now (those are the best things ever!)
Sleep: Sleeping very well, still pretty tired most of the time but it seems to be getting a bit better.
Movement? Nothing yet, can't wait!
Food Cravings: Yes, it's still McDonald's, but just food in general lately makes me happy!
Queasy/Sick? Still dry heaving every morning when I brush my teeth. I've totally learned to just brush through it!
Miss Anything? My clothes that once used to fit and look good.
Gender Prediction: I really just don't know at this point. We'll see :)
Mood: Happy, Tired
Best Moment of the Week: Easter dinner at Darlene's and seeing the family, who think I'm starting to show now!
Looking Forward To: Finding out if the little peanut is a boy or a girl (I really want to start picking some things out!!). As weird as this sounds I'm looking forward to fitting into maternity clothes (either that or just looking forward to summer when little sundresses will be okay). I'm at this awkward stage where all my tops look awful on me yet maternity clothes are way too big and the weather just won't get warm quick enough!! Also looking forward to being done with the gym (I'm going to be sad to leave but I really just need a break right now).

14 Weeks (March 29 - April 4, 2012)

Baby's Size:  Lemon
Total Weight Gain/Loss:  +1lb (+6lbs total)
Starting to Show? Yes, I definitely feel like I "popped" a bit on Saturday. There is definitely a bump
Clothes: Relying on the belly bands with almost all pants now (those are the best things ever!)
Sleep: Still exhausted, still want to sleep all the time
Movement? Not a thing, can't wait for some movement!
Food Cravings: Yes, it's still McDonald's
Queasy/Sick? Still dry heaving every morning when I brush my teeth.
Miss Anything? Having motivation of any kind, I want the exhaustion to end and I want my house to be clean!
Gender Prediction: Evan's family made tons of predictions this weekend but more seemed to say girl than boy.
Mood: A little irritable, a little out of it, utterly exhausted, but still pretty happy!
Best Moment of the Week: Getting the call from the OB telling me that Evan's cystic fybrosis test came back negative so no more worrying about that!!!! Also, my belly totally popped this week which is exciting :)
Looking Forward To: Getting Evan's bloodwork results and finding out the gender!! I really want to start seriously thinking about the baby's room (I started picking out paint swatches for both girl and boy rooms while we were shopping for paint for the downstairs family room!)
